India retaliates to Pakistan's cowardly act; 7 Pak soldiers killed

Srinagar: Agitated over the killing and mutilation of two army jawans, India on Monday retaliated strongly to Pakistan and destroyed two Pak bunkers and killed seven of their soldiers.

Initial reports said that Indian army jawans have destroyed two Pakistan bunkers in Kirpan and Pimple posts opposite Krishna Ghati area of Mendhar in Jammu.

As per the reports, about five to eight Pak soldiers were present in one of the posts.

Earlier, in a cowardly act, the Pakistan Army killed an Indian soldier and a BSF trooper and mutilated their bodies near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.

The martyred were identified as Naik Subedar Paramjit Singh of 22 Sikh Regiment and Head Constable Prem Sagar of BSF's 200 Battalion.

Defence Minister Arun Jaitley said, "Indian Army would react appropriately to Pakistan's extreme form of barbaric act... that such acts are unheard of during war and definitely during peace times."

He added, "The government of India strongly condemns the incident. The country has full faith in its Army. The sacrifices of the soldiers will not go in vain."

Army sources said that the two were killed in the unprovoked firing as they were patrolling the LoC.
