From 15 March 2026 to 4 May 2026, Indian politics enters a crucial phase, primarily because Assembly elections are being held in five states. In the press conference on 15 March, the Election Commission announced the polling and counting dates and enforced the election notification in these states. In politics, the objective of every party is to attain power by all possible means. In such a scenario, it becomes the responsibility of a skilled astrologer to present predictions purely on the basis of planetary positions, without bias or inclination, and to state only what the science of astrology indicates.

For polling, the dates for Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry were fixed as 9 April 2026. In southern Tamil Nadu, voting is scheduled in a single phase on 23 April 2026. West Bengal, considered politically critical, will witness polling on 23 and 29 April 2026. By 6 PM on 29 April, the political fate of all candidates across these states will be sealed in the ballot boxes. The results on 4 May 2026 will determine the share of power for each party.

In astrology-based prediction, several factors are considered sequentially—the date of notification, the polling dates, the planetary positions over the geographical coordinates of the state, and the individual horoscopes of key leaders and prominent candidates. By comparing planetary transits and constellations with those at the time of previous election results, astrologers attempt to estimate future outcomes. Let us now examine each state briefly to approach a reasoned prediction.

Assam

Beginning with Assam, where Himanta Biswa Sarma is currently serving as Chief Minister and is a prominent face of the Bharatiya Janata Party. At present, the ruling BJP and its allies hold a combined total of 79 seats in a 126-member Assembly, while Congress holds 22 seats. The BJP is contesting 89 seats, with the remaining being fought by its allies.

Astrologically, Himanta Biswa Sarma’s horoscope reflects Libra as his zodiac sign and Taurus as his ascendant. The conjunction of Sun and Mercury forming Budhaditya Yoga in the ninth house, along with the full aspect of exalted Jupiter, strengthens his fortune. Venus, the lord of both ascendant and zodiac, is positioned in the tenth house, indicating power and stability. Thus, he emerges as the strongest contender.

From the Congress side, Gaurav Gogoi, son of Tarun Gogoi, is seen as the challenger. His horoscope shows Aquarius as the zodiac and Scorpio ascendant, with the Moon in the fourth house and a self-placed Sun in the tenth. Mars and Jupiter are conjunct in the twelfth house, Rahu is in the eighth, and Ketu in the second. He is currently undergoing Mercury’s major period, which is about to transition into Ketu’s period.

Considering the planetary positions, the BJP-led government in Assam is likely to return to power. The number of seats may remain similar, with a variation of plus or minus five. Thus, Himanta Biswa Sarma is expected to retain his position as Chief Minister.

West Bengal

Among the five states, West Bengal is considered the most challenging election, with polling taking place in two phases. The Assembly has 294 seats, with the ruling Trinamool Congress currently holding 219 seats and 221 with allies. BJP had secured 64 seats in the previous election.

Mamata Banerjee’s horoscope, based on Taurus, shows exalted Saturn in the seventh house, while Jupiter, also exalted and vargottama, is positioned in the fourth house. The conjunction of Rahu, Sun, and Mercury in Sagittarius further strengthens her political standing. These planetary conditions have consistently indicated strong authority and governance.

Opposing her is Suvendu Adhikari from the BJP, whose horoscope shows Gemini as the zodiac sign, with the Moon in a strong position. Saturn is debilitated in the second house, Rahu and Ketu are in the twelfth and sixth houses respectively, while Venus and Mars are conjunct in the eighth house. This creates a Vipreet Rajyoga, which has supported his rapid rise in politics.

Analyzing both horoscopes along with the BJP’s foundation chart dated 6 April 1980, it appears that BJP may increase its seat share by up to 20 percent compared to the last election. However, Mamata Banerjee’s horoscope does not indicate a loss of power. Therefore, it can be said without hesitation that she is likely to form the government again with a clear majority.

Kerala

In Kerala, polling was completed on 9 April, and results will be declared on 4 May 2026. The state primarily witnesses a contest between two alliances—LDF and UDF. In the 140-member Assembly, CPI(M) is the largest party with 61 seats, supported by CPI with 16 seats and Kerala Congress (M) with 15 seats. Pinarayi Vijayan is currently the Chief Minister.

There appears to be little scope for major change in the overall outcome. Congress had secured 21 seats in the last Assembly election, and its leader of opposition V.D. Satheesan may see improved results based on planetary positions. His seat share may increase by up to one-third, reaching around 30 seats.

However, despite this improvement, the overall outcome is likely to be repeated, with Pinarayi Vijayan returning as Chief Minister.

Tamil Nadu

In Tamil Nadu, polling will take place on 23 April 2026, with counting on 4 May. The state currently has a coalition government with 158 seats in a 243-member Assembly. DMK, led by M.K. Stalin, holds 133 seats along with Congress’s 17.

The opposition AIADMK alliance holds around 60 seats, while BJP has 4 seats within a combined strength of 67.

Astrological analysis shows Stalin’s horoscope as Leo, with exalted Sun and Saturn in opposition. However, current planetary transits appear less supportive compared to the previous election. On the other hand, Edappadi K. Palaniswami also has a strong chart with Leo and Taurus ascendant. The Sun in the tenth house with Moon’s aspect, along with exalted Saturn in the sixth house, strengthens his prospects. Currently, he is under Saturn’s major period with Venus’s sub-period.

It appears that DMK may lose nearly 30 percent of its seats compared to the last tally. Congress may retain its numbers. Meanwhile, Palaniswami’s strength may rise by about 20 percent, taking his seats to around 72–75.

Even if there is no complete change of government, the ruling DMK government may face significant challenges and may have to rely on alliances and strategic adjustments to retain power.

Puducherry

In Puducherry, polling took place on 9 April, with counting on 4 May. Despite being a Union Territory, it has an active Assembly of 30 seats, along with 3 nominated seats. A party needs 16 seats to form the government.

Currently, the NDA alliance, comprising AINRC and BJP, holds 19 seats, with Rangaswamy as Chief Minister. Congress and DMK together hold 14 seats.

Rangaswamy’s horoscope shows Aries with Libra ascendant, with Moon and Mars in opposition. Libra ascendant itself is strong, Rahu in the sixth house, and Sun in the tenth house further support his position. With Jupiter’s major period and Venus’s sub-period active, the indications favor continuation of his leadership.

Congress may gain one or two additional seats, but there is no strong indication of a change of government.

Conclusion

In conclusion, based on the analysis of planetary positions, transits, and astrological combinations, the forecast suggests that in Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma’s government will return to power with a marginal seat variation. In West Bengal, BJP may increase its seat share by around 20 percent, while Trinamool Congress may lose about 10 percent, yet Mamata Banerjee is likely to retain power with a majority.

In Tamil Nadu, the DMK government under Stalin may suffer a loss of around 30 percent seats, while BJP and the opposition may improve their position. However, Stalin may still manage to retain power through alliances. In Kerala, the existing government is likely to be repeated, while in Puducherry, despite minor gains for Congress, the current NDA government is expected to continue.

This prediction is based on planetary positions, constellations, and astrological analysis. However, in a democracy, the final mandate belongs to the people, and the people’s verdict is ultimately the will of the Divine, which stands above all predictions and actions.
