West Bengal election 2026: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday released the BJP's 'Sankalp Patra' in Kolkata for the high-stakes West Bengal Assembly elections.
The BJP has undertaken extensive ground-level preparations for the polls. Work on the manifesto began in early February and concluded by the end of the month.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, "This manifesto is a path to bring every section of Bengal out of despair. It will show a new way out for farmers surrounded by various kinds of fears... This manifesto will also place before the people of Bengal the roadmap for the developed India envisioned by Prime Minister Modi."
"We will have zero tolerance for infiltrators. The citizens of Bengal are concerned about the state’s identity if infiltration continues. I want to assure the people of West Bengal that form a BJP government with a full majority, we will act decisively under the policy of detect, delete, and deport, and remove infiltrators from Bengal," Shah elaborated.
"All government employees and salaried workers will be ensured DA, and within 45 days, the 7th Pay Commission will be implemented to uphold the dignity of every employee under the new BJP government," the HM stated.
"In many BJP-ruled states, UCC (Uniform Civil Code) has been implemented; we will implement UCC in Bengal within 6 months," he said.
HM Shah added that if elected, the BJP government will implement all schemes of the government of India, including Ayushman Bharat, with completion certificates.
West Bengal election 2026
The two-phase Assembly polls in West Bengal will be on April 23 and April 29. In the first phase, voting will be for 152 Assembly constituencies, and in the second phase, the remaining 142 constituencies will go to the polls.
The results will be declared on May 4.
