New Delhi: A medium-intensity earthquake shook the India-Nepal border region, including Uttarakhand, on Thursday night. Few parts of northern India also felt the tremors at around 10.35 pm.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the quake was measured to be of magnitude 5.2 on the Richter scale.
The reports suggest that the epicentre of the quake was near Dharchula in Uttarakhand. The IMD has estimated the depth of the quake to be around 10 kms.
The Delhi-NCR areas also observed the tremors and the reports suggest that few other parts also felt the tremors.

The media reports informed that the tremors were also felt in other parts of Uttarakhand including Champawat, Garhwal, Srinagar and Almora.
The earthquake came around 18 minutes after another quake, measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale, shook the island of Komodo in Indonesia.
