Domestic fuel prices decline by 30 paise; Prices of petrol at new low

As per the country’s dynamic pricing mechanism, the domestic fuel prices depend upon international fuel prices on a 15-day average and the value of the rupee.

New Delhi: Petrol prices touched fresh low levels for 2018 across the four metros as the domestic fuel prices fell around 30 paise on Saturday.

Prices of petrol in four Metros after decrease are as under:

Delhi: Rs 69.55 per litre

Kolkata: Rs 71.37 per litre

Mumbai: Rs 74.89 per litre

Chennai: Rs 71.85 per litre

Cost of the fuel in Delhi fell below the Rs 70 per litre mark on December 24 for the first time in the year since January.

The decline in domestic fuel prices comes amid the recent fall in global crude oil prices.

As per the country’s dynamic pricing mechanism, the domestic fuel prices depend upon international fuel prices on a 15-day average and the value of the rupee.

Diesel prices also declined in line with petrol.

Delhi: Rs 63.32 per litre.

Kolkata: Rs 65.07 per litre.

Mumbai: Rs 66.25 per litre.

Chennai: Rs 66.84 per litre.
