Coronavirus: India reports 4,146 new cases; 144 more fatalities in last 24 hours
According to the ministry, in the last 24 hours, 14,146 new corona cases came and 144 corona infected lost their lives.

New Delhi: The situation of corona infection in the country is improving now. For the second time in a week, less than 15 thousand corona cases have been registered in a day. The latest data was released by the Ministry of Health on Sunday morning. According to the ministry, in the last 24 hours, 14,146 new corona cases came and 144 corona infected lost their lives. 19,788 people have also been cured of corona, that is, 5786 active cases have been reduced.
Corona latest updates:
A total of three crore 40 lakh 67 thousand people have been infected since the beginning of the corona epidemic. Out of these, 4 lakh 52 thousand 124 people have died. The good thing is that so far 3 crore 34 lakh 19 thousand people have also been cured. The number of corona active cases in the country has come down to less than two lakhs. A total of 1 lakh 95 thousand 846 people are still infected with the corona virus, who are undergoing treatment.
On Saturday, 7,995 new cases of corona virus infection were reported in Kerala, while 264 more people were found infected in the neighboring state of Karnataka. After the arrival of new cases in Kerala, the total cases increased to 48,37,560. In the last one day, 57 more patients died of covid-19, taking the death toll to 26,791.
Vaccination drive in India:
The Union Health Ministry said, till October 16, 97 crore 65 lakh 89 thousand doses of corona vaccine have been given across the country. 41.20 lakh vaccines were administered on the last day. At the same time, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), about 59 crore corona tests have been done so far. About 9 lakh corona sample tests were done on the last day, whose positivity rate is less than 2 percent.
The death rate from corona in the country is 1.33 percent while the recovery rate is 98.08 percent. Active cases are 0.59%. India is now at 10th place in the world in terms of Corona Active Cases. India ranks second in terms of the total number of infected. Whereas after America, Brazil has the highest number of deaths in India.
