Goa to become first state with cashless economy

New Delhi: After demonetisation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is pitching for cashless economy following which Goa is the first to become cashless state by December 31.

Goa people need not to keep wallets with themselves as they can pay safe using credit and debit cards. One tap on the mobile phone could bring essential items to their homes.

  • People have to dial *99# for the instructions regarding transactions. There is no necessity of having a smartphone for the same.
  • These arrangements have been made for those venders, who do not have swipe machines.
  • The payments, however, via ATMs and debit cards will continue.
