Nitish Kumar to take oath as Bihar Chief Minister on Thursday

Patna: Nitish Kumar is all set to take oath as Chief Minister of Bihar at 05:00 pm on Thursday, said sources. Bharatiya Janata Party Bihar chief Sushil Kumar Modi will sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister of the state.

JD(U) and BJP will form new government with both the former allies coming together.

In what could be said as a smart move, Bharatiya Janata Party pitched in support for Nitish Kumar, accepting him as NDA leader.

"BJP will support Nitish Kumar and accepted him as NDA leader. We express full confidence in Nitish Kumar," said Bihar BJP chief Sushil Modi.

Following tension in Grand Alliance, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday submitted his resignation to the Governor Kesari Nath Tripathi, saying, it was not possible to continue in Grand Alliance after charges against Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav. Nitish’s big move came after JD(U)’s legislative meet on Wednesday.

“I have tendered my resignation to the Governor for the sake of Bihar people. Governor has accepted my resignation,” said Nitish Kumar as Grand Alliance collapsed.
