Mumbai: Ranbir Kapoor, who will be seen in the biopic of Sanjay Dutt 'Sanju', has always been mesmerised with the latter since his childhood.

Ranbir, in an interview, once shared his memories with Sanjay Dutt. He said, "I saw Sanjay sir for the first time in Kashmir. He was shooting for 'Sahibaan' with Papa in 1993. I was totally mesmerised with his aura as he was wearing an earring and was dressed in a Pathani."

He also said that in his childhood he idolised Sanjay Dutt. Ranbir stated, "Of course, he’s very close to the family. He treats me like a younger brother and spoils me with many gifts as well as a lot of love. He gave me a Harley Davidson motorcycle for my birthday. He used to pick me up for a drive in his Ferrari late in the night. It seems life has come a full circle with him when I got an opportunity to portray him on screen. Initially, I didn’t have the confidence to play the part. When Raju sir, however, shared the script with me, I discovered a human side to Sanjay sir. It’s not the Sanjay Dutt we know. I’ve a lot more admiration and respect for him now.”

Sharing his bike ride memory he stated that he used to hide it from his father (Rishi Kapoor) as he does not like bikes.

When Papa found that Sanjay sir has gifted me the bike, he called and shouted on him 'Stop spoiling my son, isko apne jaisa mat bana'.

On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor is busy promoting 'Sanju' which is going to hit the theatres on June 29, 2018.
