- M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story
The three-hour-and-10-minute-long biopic on cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni's life was one the highest- grossing Bollywood films of 2016 in India. The idea of the biopic was put forward by Dhoni's manager, Arun Pandey, after encountering an incident at an airport after the 2011 Cricket World Cup Final. The film runs through the major aspects of Dhoni’s life.The Story has an interesting and inspiring screenplay that keeps its viewers engaged right from the beginning till the end. As Dhoni, Sushant Singh Rajput has delivered brilliant performance; Disha Patani, Kiara Advani, Herry Tangri, Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Bhumika Chawla and Rajesh Sharma have done justice to their roles.

- Dangal
Dangal is a biographical sports drama film.The film is loosely based on the Phogat family, telling the story of Mahavir Singh Phogat, an amateur wrestler, who trains his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari to become India's first world-class female wrestlers.
The movie was directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Aamir Khan.The development of the film began in early 2013 when Tiwari began writing the screenplay. In 2014, Khan had invited and interviewed the Phogat sisters on his talk show Satyamev Jayate, before Tiwari approached him with the script months later, after which Khan became the lead actor and producer.

- Neerja
The film features Sonam Kapoor as the main lead, with Shabana Azmi, Yogendra Tiku and Shekhar Ravjiani in supporting roles. The movie depicts the valour and courage of a 22 years old flight attendant who lost her life to save passengers from a terrorist group who hijacked the plane.

The film is a tribute to Neerja, who was eventually honoured posthumously with the Ashoka Chakra, India's highest military decoration, awarded for peacetime valor, courageous action or self-sacrifice.

- Pan Singh Tomar
The movie was the biopic of an infamous bandit, who wreaked havoc in Chambal Valley. In earlier years of his life he was a soldier in the Indian Army, and won a gold medal at the Indian National Games.
The movie starts with a scene where a reporter interviews Paan Singh Tomar (Irrfan Khan), a dacoit who was in the news for killing nine people of a community. Answering questions about him, the story goes in flashback from the year 1950.
Irrfan Khan plays the title role, with Mahie Gill, Vipin Sharma and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the supporting cast.

- Bhaag Milkha Bhaag
The story is based on the life of Milkha Singh, an Indian athlete who was a national champion runner and an Olympian. The movie stars Farhan Akhtar with Sonam Kapoor, Divya Dutta, Meesha Shafi, Pavan Malhotra and Art Malik in supporting roles.
Singh and his daughter, Sonia Sanwalka, co-wrote his autobiography, titled ‘The Race of My Life’. The book inspired this movie to happen. The film starts in the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, where a coach says "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag!" which takes the runner back to the memories of his childhood days. The movie runs in flashback.
