CONFIRMED: Kapil Sharma's new show to go off air, check details

Update: 2018-04-11 06:22 GMT

Mumbai:Things are getting worse for stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma as his newly launched comedy show 'Family Time with Kapil Sharma' has been suspended for a month by Sony Television.

"The first episode of Kapil’s latest show was nothing like its predecessor. It was a hotchpotch of too many things put in together for this 90s style game show. It only did well on TRP charts as Kapil has a very ardent fan following and was going to be back on television after a hiatus of seven months. So naturally, his fans did watch their favourite comedian’s new show but it lacked the punch that they expected. However, owing to personal issues, he had to cancel Rani Mukerji’s shoot and this left us in a lurch," said a source close to the show.

Notably, Kapil had cancelled an episode shoot with actor Rani Mukerji. He even made Rani wait for hours before cancelling the shoot.

The sources said that Kapil's health and personal issues are also the reason behind the suspension of the show.

No any episode of 'Family Time with Kapil Sharma' will be shot for the whole of April.

“Right now, we want to him get better first. So that once he is back, he is completely devoted to work like he has always been,” the source added.

It is worth mentioning here that Kapil Sharma and Mumbai-based film journalist Vickey Lalwani have lodged police complaints against each other after a telephonic spat on Friday evening.

Sharma has accused Lalwani of defamatory writing and threats of extortion, harassment in connivance with his two former managers - Neeti Simoes and Preeti Simoes, while Lalwani, the Content Head with SpotboyE-com, owned by 9X Media, has shot back with a complaint to Mumbai police accusing him of threats, abuse, harassment, and other charges.

Sharma also posted a series of tweets that were found objectionable, and later these were deleted on grounds that his Twitter account was hacked.

On Saturday, the comedian, however, revealed that his Twitter account was not hacked but his team deleted the posts, but he stood by his comments.
