Akshay Kumar credits action for his stardom in Bollywood

 

Mumbai: Khiladi Akshay Kumar has several remarkable roles in his kitty but the Bollywood superstar feels that people will remember him for action and not for his acting in the films.

"When I was new in the industry, I knew that I am a stuntman first, then an actor. I did only action for nearly 10 years," said Akshay Kumar at an event of Movie Stunt Artists' Association here.

The National Award-winning actor gave credits to action behind his success as an actor in Bollywood.

Akshay expressed that there was a time when the industry used to identify and ask him for action acts and not for acting.

"Whenever someone used to make an action film, they would say 'take this guy called Akshay'. When it came to acting, nobody used to take me," said 'Airlift' actor.

Khiladi Kumar's career graph carries several twists and turns. He began his inning as an action hero and later turned towards genre like romance and comedy.

Since last few years, Akki has delivered some out of the box flicks including 'Special 26', 'Baby', 'Holiday', 'Airlift etc.

"I became what I am today because of action. I am thankful to all the stuntmen, fight choreographers. I did a lot of stunts myself but you (stuntmen) taught me," said 'Jolly LLB 2' actor.

On work front, Akshay Kumar is busy in the shooting of R Balki directorial 'Padman'.

Akshay’s 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' is also set for 2017 Republic Day clash with Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'The Ring'.
