CBSE has now confirmed how the new two-exam model for Class 10 will work, and the board used a webinar to explain every rule schools must follow before the 2026 exams. The system starts in the 2025-26 session, and the instructions are firm because CBSE wants no mistakes in registration, assessments, or discipline. Schools must finish LOC, practical timelines, internal marks, attendance records, and parent briefings exactly the way CBSE directs.

Why CBSE Held This Webinar And What It Means Now

The board said the two-exam model is part of NEP 2020, and the change needs clear planning from every school. The webinar walked schools through the whole structure because next year’s boards will be the first time this system runs. CBSE stressed that LOC for both Class 10 and 12 must be error-free because wrong data affects everything later. Schools also need to finish registration for Class 9 and 11 with calm care because missing info cannot be fixed later.

How CBSE Set The Practical And Assessment Timeline

CBSE repeated that practical exams cannot be delayed again under the new model. Winter-bound schools will run Class 12 practicals from November 6 to December 6, 2025. Summer-bound schools will hold them from January 1 to February 14, 2026. Internal assessments for Class 10 will also take place from January 1 to February 14. Marks must be uploaded inside this window without mistakes. CBSE said if a student is a sportsperson and is away for competition, the school must reschedule the internal work so the student doesn’t lose marks unfairly.

CWSN Guidelines And Attendance Rules Schools Cannot Ignore

CBSE reminded schools to treat CWSN students with fairness but also avoid misuse of the relaxations that the board gives. Attendance rules stay strict. Schools must update attendance carefully and keep parents aware. If any school already reported a student with short attendance, CBSE expects them to stand by their own submission instead of asking for sudden changes later.

Schools Must Hold Mandatory Briefings For Parents And Students

The board said every school must hold a pre-exam briefing. This is to make sure students and their parents understand how the new system works, what rules exist inside the exam hall, and what conduct CBSE expects. The board explained that discipline will matter even more now because the new model leaves no space for confusion or repeated attempts.

Important Instructions CBSE Shared During The Session

The board shared a long presentation of 74 slides and included answers to 53 common questions schools ask. CBSE said there will be no reading time and no extra time. Only one attempt will exist for each exam. Every question will be compulsory. The exam will continue until learning objectives are completed. Students must not bring phones or any item that might lead to trouble. Only the most suitable answer will count as correct, and CBSE will not offer any post-exam facilities or correction chances under this system.

Why CBSE Says Strict Discipline Is Needed For This New Model

CBSE ended the webinar by saying that the system will only work if schools finish every task on time. Delays in LOC, errors in internal marks, wrong attendance records, or late practicals will create bigger problems later. The board’s message felt simple: the two-exam model can run smoothly, but only if schools follow rules without shortcuts and students follow exam discipline with care.
