NCB, Navy seize biggest consignment of drugs, five foreign nationals arrested

During this operation, 3300 kg of different types of drugs have been recovered.

Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has recovered the largest consignment of drugs till date. Indian Navy and Narcotics Control Bureau jointly carried out this operation. During this operation, 3300 kg of different types of drugs have been recovered. Besides, 5 foreign nationals have also been arrested. Earlier, 3000 kg of drugs were recovered at Mundra Port in Gujarat.

It is being told that out of the 3300 kg of drugs seized, there is 3089 kg of hashish, 158 kg of methamphetamine and 25 kg of morphine. The Navy says that this is the biggest recovery of its kind in recent times. The foreigners caught in this case are said to be Pakistanis. Based on inputs from P8I LRMR aircraft on surveillance mission, the Indian Navy mission ship was diverted to intercept the suspect engaged in smuggling.

According to the Indian Navy, the drugs seized were being brought from Iran. After receiving information about this, a joint operation was carried out with the Indian Navy and Narcotics Control Bureau. During the investigation, drugs worth crores of rupees were recovered from the ship. Taking action, 5 crew members aboard the boat were captured. The five accused detained from the captured ship are suspected to be Pakistanis.
