Body of Indian student who went missing in Britain last month found in River Thames

The body of an Indian student who went missing in Britain last month has been found in the River Thames. Police said that Meetkumar Patel (23) had reached Britain in September for higher studies and he was reported missing on November 17. The Metropolitan Police found his body in the River Thames near the Canary Wharf area of east London on 21 November.

Police said, "This case is not being treated as suspicious." Parth Patel, a relative of Meetkumar, has started an online campaign 'Go Fund Me' to raise funds to help his family.

An appeal has been made to raise funds which states, "Meetkumar Patel was a 23-year-old man who came to the UK for higher studies on 19 September 2023."

It said, "He belonged to a farmer family and used to live in the village. He was missing since November 17, 2023. Now on November 21, the police has found his body. It is sad for all of us. Therefore, we have "It was also decided to raise funds to help the family and send his body to India."

The appeal states that the funds will be safely transferred to Meetkumar's family in India. According to the 'Evening Standard' newspaper, the student was to go to Sheffield on November 20 to pursue a degree at Sheffield Hallam University and start a part-time job at Amazon.

According to the news, he had gone for a morning walk and when he did not return to his home in London, his relatives informed the police about his missing.
