After the detection of the first HMPV case in India, there was chaos in the Indian stock market. Sensex has fallen by 1150 points to 78065 points. The National Stock Exchange's Nifty also slipped below 24000 with a fall of 360 points and slipped to 23,633 points. A huge decline is being seen in banking and energy stocks. Midcap and smallcap stocks are also witnessing a sharp decline. Index India Vix, which measures volatility in the market, is trading with a decline of 13.37 percent.

As soon as the news came in the morning that the first HMPV case has been reported in Bengaluru, Karnataka, there was a huge decline in the stock market. This virus was first detected in China. The HMPV case has reminded market investors of the corona pandemic that came from China 5 years ago, after which investors are seen to be very restless and afraid. The BSE Sensex is trading at 23,610 points, down 1200 points or 1.51 per cent and the Nifty 50 is down by about 400 points or 1.62 per cent.

Investors have suffered huge losses in today's session after the HMPV case came to light in Karnataka. The market capitalization of the BSE has declined by more than Rs 9 lakh crore. The market cap of stocks listed on the BSE has come down to Rs 440.74 lakh crore, which was Rs 449.78 lakh crore in the previous session. That is, the market capitalization has decreased by Rs 9.04 lakh crore.

The biggest decline in the market is being seen in mid-cap and small-cap stocks. Nifty's mid-cap index is trading down by 1103 points while the small-cap index is down by 413 points or 2.18 percent. Apart from this, banking stocks are also witnessing a sharp decline and Nifty Bank is trading down by 1.66 percent. FMCG, Energy Healthcare, FSCG and Oil & Gas stocks are also witnessing a sharp decline. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 27 are trading down while out of 4132 stocks, 3262 are trading down and 743 up.
