Defence technology company Elbit Systems has emerged as Israel’s most valuable publicly traded company, overtaking pharmaceutical giant Teva Pharmaceutical Industries and several of the country’s largest banks.

In Tel Aviv stock exchange, the firm’s shares climbed 4.5%, pushing its market valuation to about $122 billion, even as global markets faced turbulence.

Founded in Haifa, Israel, Elbit Systems is one of the world’s leading defense technology companies. Its portfolio includes unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and autonomous systems, military electronics and avionics for fighter jets and helicopters, surveillance and reconnaissance systems, cybersecurity and intelligence solutions, precision-guided weapons and artillery systems, electro-optical sensors, night-vision gear, and battlefield communication networks.

Many of these systems are used by the Israel Defense Forces and exported globally to allied militaries.

Global Presence

Elbit Systems has expanded far beyond Israel, operating subsidiaries, production facilities, and R&D centers in more than 30 countries.

Key markets include United States where major defense contracts and manufacturing operations are based. Besides it has presence in United Kingdom for training and defense technology partnerships, in Germany and other European nations for avionics and electronic warfare programs, in Australia for land combat and battlefield network systems and in India for UAVs, border surveillance, and joint ventures with local defense firms.

Why the Stock Is Rising

Analysts attribute Elbit’s surge to strong global demand for advanced defense technologies, particularly drones, electronic warfare systems, and integrated battlefield networks, capabilities that have become central to modern conflicts.

As geopolitical tensions persist across multiple regions, defense contractors like Elbit Systems are seeing rising orders from governments modernizing their armed forces.
