Yogi Adityanath In Demand For Karnataka Polls With Rise In His Star Power

LUCKNOW: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed a public rally in Daliganj market here to garner support for BJP's mayoral candidate Sushma Kharakwal and other candidates contesting the civic body polls.

Addressing the rally, he said, "With joint actions being taken by the triple engine government - Union, state and local body - Lucknow will carry forward the legacy that is mentioned in history and Puranic references (mythology) and soon become a place where smile will come automatically to the faces after seeing the beauty around."

Highlighting the development works done by BJP governments, he said, "Rs 1,390 crore was sanctioned by the Union government for Lucknow in 28 different items under the AMRUT scheme. We, in Lucknow have given 16,598 houses to the poor, made free golden cards under Ayushman scheme for 1.58 lakh people and floated pension schemes for 5,200 destitute women, 17,300 disabled, and over 10,000 old people."

Similarly, in the state, 1 lakh destitute women, disabled and old people are being given the benefit of pension facility of Rs 10,000 on a monthly basis, he added.

Apart from this, the CM said, the traffic problem is being resolved by developing the Kisan Path and Green Corridor, the foundation of which was recently laid by the defence minister. This is why Lucknow is attracting everyone (investors) as a Smart City, he said.

Attacking the previous government, Yogi said that riots used to be the order of the day for six years. Yogi said that in the erstwhile government extortionists got patronage of a 'specific party', while tormentors and perpetrators used to roam freely threatening women.

"Now UP's cities are being declared as safe cities. Earlier, the Union government's schemes could not be implemented in the state. Now the city is getting Har Ghar Nal (water connection in house) and sewer lines are being laid," remarked the CM.

He said that earlier perpetrators used to carry guns and roam freely. Now, over 2 crore youths have been given tablets. They are using talent and training from the tablets to be ready for jobs. He also highlighted how India is developing at a faster pace and making its distinctive image across the world in tackling local as well as global issues.

The CM also said that PM Narendra Modi is saving the lives of thousands of Indians under Operation Kaveri inside Sudan. Even during the Russia-Ukraine war, India presented its leadership capability to the world. Getting the leadership of G20 countries is a symbol of India's strength and power. The world is accepting that the path of world peace, harmony and welfare of humanity will emerge from India under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.

Later, he appealed to voters to choose BJP in local body elections. "It is your responsibility to get BJP a thumping majority in the local body election," urged Yogi.

Earlier, deputy chief minister Brijesh Pathak also addressed the gathering. He said Kharkwal is an ordinary worker who has been serving the party continuously for 36 years. "I thank the national leadership and the state leadership for making a common worker the candidate for mayor. This has given a message to small workers that they can sit on any chair at any time," said Pathak. Mahanagar president Mukesh Sharma said that the rule of law is established in UP and mafia are inside the jail.

Apart from Kharkpal, MLC Mukesh Sharma and MLA Neeraj Bora were also present on the occasion.
