Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli has jumped to second place in the newest ICC Men’s ODI Batting Rankings, sitting just eight points behind Rohit Sharma who still holds number one. The update reflects his strong South Africa ODI series where he hit 135, 102 and 65*, pushing India to a 2-1 win. The Test and T20I lists also changed a lot, with big movements for Williamson, Starc, Hardik Pandya and others.

Kohli’s ODI Surge Brings Him Near Rohit at the Top

Kohli’s rise feels expected because his form in the recent SA series looked too consistent to ignore. His total of 302 runs in just three games gave him Player of the Series and pushed him over two ranking spots. Rohit is still at the top but the margin right now is very slim, and it almost looks like the next update could flip the order if Kohli keeps scoring like this. The interesting bit is how smooth the climb happened, almost like he didn’t need much effort to get right back in the top two.

SA Batters Also Gain as Markram and de Kock Move Up

South Africa didn’t go quiet in the update. Aiden Markram and Quinton de Kock both hit centuries during the series and that helped them jump to 25th and 13th spots. Their captain Temba Bavuma also lifted himself three places to 37th. These jumps show how quickly a couple of strong games can change ODI positions, especially in the mid-table where movements tend to happen faster.

Kuldeep Yadav Climbs to Third in ODI Bowling Rankings

Kuldeep’s four for 41 in the final ODI didn’t only seal the win. It pulled him up three spots into the third position among ODI bowlers. His recent consistency has been steady and the ranking now looks more like a correction. For India this gives a well-set mix with one batter chasing number one and one bowler sitting inside the top tier.

Test Rankings Shift as Williamson and Starc Make Notable Jumps

The Test table changed heavily because of recent matches. Joe Root still holds the top batting spot with 781 points but Kane Williamson moved into second and pushed Harry Brook down to fourth. Steve Smith stands third and is just slipping between the two.

Mitchell Starc had maybe the strongest upgrade of the week. His pink-ball six-for lifted him to a career-best third among bowlers and also pushed him to fifth in all-rounders. Jake Weatherald and Zak Crawley also showed movements, even if from lower positions, after their solid innings.

Big West Indies Gains After Strong Christchurch Test

One of the more surprising jumps came from Justin Greaves, whose unbeaten double-century sent him 16 places up to 60th. Shai Hope moved 19 places to 48th after scoring 140. Kemar Roach also climbed six spots because of his long stay at the crease and five wickets in the match. These movements show how one strong Test can change a whole career direction.

T20I Rankings See Quick Movements After IND vs SA Opener

The first T20I between India and South Africa created changes too. Hardik Pandya jumped to fourth in all-rounders. Axar Patel also improved in both all-rounder and bowler lists. Dewald Brevis entered the top ten among batters, and bowlers like Arshdeep and Bumrah made small but important climbs.

Rankings Reflect a Busy Week Across Formats

With ODI, Test and T20I matches running together, the ICC table saw one of its busiest weeks. Kohli chasing Rohit is the big headline, but the spread of changes across players from India, SA, Australia, West Indies and New Zealand shows how tight every list is right now.
