The Centre has issued a notice to OTT platforms amid the India's Got Latent controversy. In this notice, these platforms have been instructed to follow the code of conduct. Under the IT Rules (2021), there is a warning to follow the code of conduct and ensure critical self-regulation and implement access control to prevent children from consuming 'A' rated content.

This notice from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has come amid the controversial episode of the stand-up comedy show 'India's Got Latent', in which Ranveer Allahabadia made 'obscene' comments. After the government's order, that episode of the show was removed from YouTube. A case was later registered against Allahabadiya and the police had sent him summons to appear before them in connection with the charges. Allahabadiya later moved the supreme court seeking quashing of the FIR and and a stay on his possible arrest. The apex court granted him interim relief from arrest but scolded him for his remarks. It also refused to quash the FIR.
