SS Innovations International Launches World’s First Tele Surgeon Console
SS Innovations International, Inc. a developer of cutting-edge surgical robotic technologies dedicated to making robotic surgery affordable and accessible to populations worldwide, has redefined the boundaries of innovation with the unveiling of the world’s first Tele Surgeon Console (TSC) - SSII MantrAsana.
‘MantrAsana’ is the world’s first fully integrated, ergonomic, and portable telesurgery console for remote precision operations. It demonstrates how surgical expertise can now be extended from the office of any expert surgeon through a compact design of the Tele Surgeon Console (TSC), eliminating the need to occupy an entire operating room for telesurgical procedures. This breakthrough in robotic technology marks a defining moment in the evolution of surgical care, enabling expert surgeons to operate remotely through a compact, self-contained robotic system, designed and manufactured entirely in India for the world.
The launching event was attended by eminent experts from across the medical and surgical community, including Dr. Sudhir Srivastava (Founder and Chairman, SS Innovations International), Dr. Sudhir Rawal (Medical Director, Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre), Dr. Vishwa Srivastava (Chief Executive Officer, APAC, SS Innovations International), Dr. Lalit Malik (Chief Cardiac Surgeon, Jaipur Manipal Hospital), Dr. Somashekhar S. P. (Chairman, Medical Advisory Board, Aster DM Healthcare, GCC & India) and Dr. Venkatesh Munikrishnan (Consultant Colorectal & Robotic Surgeon, Apollo Hospitals).
Speaking on the launch, Dr. Sudhir Srivastava, Founder and Chairman, SS Innovations International, said: “With the Tele Surgeon Console, we are taking a monumental step toward making advanced surgical care accessible to everyone. The compact size of the console allows surgeons to perform telesurgery directly from their offices, without occupying an operating room or the entire Mantra system. The console’s smaller footprint offers a significant advantage, it is a self-contained chair with all electronics integrated within. The surgeon wears lightweight glasses with a magnified 3D view and uses magnetic sensor-based controls to maneuver the robotic system remotely. This advancement allows these smaller telesurgery units to be placed anywhere, extending surgical expertise globally.”
Dr. Sudhir Rawal, Medical Director, Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre, added that, “This technology empowers surgeons to extend their expertise far beyond hospital walls. Patients will benefit greatly, as the best surgeons and the highest standards of care will now be available regardless of location.
MantrAsana TSC is designed for efficiency, comfort, and connectivity. Its compact ergonomic footprint allows installation in a surgeon’s office, enabling remote procedures without occupying an operating theatre. Surgeons experience seamless precision through an advanced headset offering magnified 3D HD visualization, maintaining the same accuracy and outcomes as conventional robotic surgery. It also supports global collaboration, mentorship, and upskilling of surgical teams, aligning perfectly with SS Innovations International’s vision to democratize robotic surgery and expand access to advanced medical technologies. The MantrAsana TSC is expected to be commercially available by December 2025 in India, followed by global deployment.
An American company headquartered in India, SS Innovations International is expanding its global presence with technologically advanced, user-friendly, and cost-effective surgical robotic solutions. It develops innovative surgical robotic technologies with the vision of making robotic surgery affordable and accessible to a larger segment of the global population. The company’s product range includes its proprietary ‘SSII Mantra Surgical Robotic System’ and a comprehensive suite of ‘SSII Mudra surgical instruments’, which support a variety of procedures, including robotic cardiac surgery.
About SSII Mantra
The SSII Mantra Surgical Robotic System is a modular multi-arm system incorporating advanced technological features. It allows the use of 3 to 5 robotic arms, features an open-faced ergonomic Surgeon Command Centre, a 32-inch 3D 4K monitor, and a 23-inch 2D touch panel for displaying all patient-related information. It offers a virtual real-time image of the robotic Patient Side Arm Carts and the capability for superimposing 3D models of diagnostic imaging. The Vision Cart provides the table-side team with the same magnified 3D 4K view as the surgeon, enhancing safety and efficiency. Its modular arms offer flexibility in positioning and arm count, ensuring collision-free operation.
