Lok Sabha Election Results 2024: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi is leading in the two Lok Sabha seats of Wayanad in Kerala and Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh as per very early leads as counting of votes for the 2024 general elections is underway.
In Wayanad, the Congress leader, who is also the sitting MP, is ahead by 103 votes, while in the party bastion Raebaraeli, he was ahead of his BJP rival Dinesh Pratap Singh in the counting of postal ballots.
Rahul leads by over 50,000 votes in Raebareli
Rahul Gandhi is leading by over 50,589 votes in Raebareli. Gandhi has secured 1,01,481 votes so far while his competitor from the BJP Dinesh Pratap Singh has secured 50,892 votes.
Who won in Wayanad and Raebareli in 2019?
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi won in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Kerala's Wayanad by 706,367 votes and is contesting from the same seat again this time, hoping to repeat the same feat.
In addition, he is also contesting from Congress' safest seat, Raebareli, in Uttar Pradesh, which was previously won by his mother, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, from 2004 to 2019. In 2019, Sonia Gandhi won the seat by a margin of more than 1.5 lakh votes against BJP's Dinesh Pratap Singh.
