Bihar Elections 2025 Latest Update Tejashwi Yadav Vows Oath as CM BJP Calls It a Dream

Bihar Elections 2025 Latest Update: With just days left before the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, the political atmosphere in the state has turned charged after RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan’s CM face, Tejashwi Yadav, confidently announced that he would take oath as Chief Minister on November 18.

Tejashwi made the bold statement during an election rally, asserting that “the results will be declared on November 14, and the swearing-in will take place on November 18.” He also expressed confidence that the INDIA bloc will form the next government in Bihar.

Nityanand Rai Mocks Tejashwi’s ‘Dream of Becoming CM’

Responding sharply, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai mocked Tejashwi’s remarks, saying:

“Tejashwi Yadav said that he will take oath as Chief Minister on the 18th — he’s dreaming again. Just like in 2020, when he thought he would become Chief Minister for two days. This dream too will never come true.”

Rai’s comments reflect the BJP’s confidence in retaining power in Bihar, even as the Mahagathbandhan steps up its campaign efforts.

Samrat Choudhary: ‘People, Not Tejashwi, Will Decide Who Takes Oath’

Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary also took a dig at Tejashwi, saying:

“The way Lalu Yadav forced Congress to declare his son as Chief Minister won’t be accepted by the people. The son is announcing his oath-taking day himself — but it’s the people who will decide who takes oath.”

Choudhary’s remarks underline the NDA’s counter-offensive strategy, highlighting the dynastic politics narrative against the RJD and the INDIA bloc.

Tejashwi Targets Crime, Mentions Anant Singh’s Arrest

Amid the ongoing war of words, Tejashwi Yadav also addressed the recent arrest of Mokama strongman Anant Singh, who is contesting as a JDU candidate, in connection with the murder of Dular Chand Yadav, a supporter of Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party.

He said,

“Once the INDIA bloc forms the government, all criminals — irrespective of caste or religion — will be behind bars within weeks.”

The RJD leader’s statement appears aimed at consolidating the law and order narrative and portraying himself as a reformer determined to clean up Bihar politics.

Bihar Election Battle Intensifies

As the campaign gains momentum, the verbal duel between Tejashwi Yadav and BJP leaders like Nityanand Rai and Samrat Choudhary has intensified, signaling a high-stakes battle for Bihar’s political future.

The first phase of polling is set to take place soon, and both camps — the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan (INDIA bloc) — are pulling out all stops to win voter confidence.

With Tejashwi’s bold claim and BJP’s pointed counterattacks, Bihar is witnessing one of its most heated electoral contests in years.
