Shocking Raid: Toxic Ice & Lassi Candies Seized in Hyderabad

Hyderabad police found ice candies and lassi products mixed with harmful chemicals during a raid, and honestly it’s quite worrying. Around ₹5.44 lakh worth of unsafe items were seized, and the owner was arrested. This shows food adulteration is not small issue anymore, it’s serious and directly affects everyday people like us.

What Exactly Happened Here

The raid took place in Hyderabad’s Ahmed Nagar area, where an ice cream parlour was operating in poor conditions. Police teams from the Taskforce and Mehdipatnam station went in after getting inputs.

They found large quantities of ice candies and lassi being made in an unhygienic setup. Not just that, harmful chemicals were being used, which is honestly disturbing. Food we think is safe, it sometimes isn’t at all.

The owner, Syed Musharafuddin, was caught during the operation. A case has been registered under serious sections, and investigation is ongoing right now.

What Was Seized Will Shock You

The numbers itself feels unreal when you hear it properly. Police recovered 92 packets of ice candies, and each packet had 180 pieces. That’s thousands of candies already.

Then there were 20 packets of lassi candies, each with 210 units, plus 300 glasses of ready lassi. Imagine how many people could have consumed this.

Along with that, raw materials were seized too, like 50 kg sugar, 15 buckets of curd, and even machines used for making lassi. Chemicals like citric acid and sucrose were also found, used in unsafe ways.

Food adulteration sounds like a technical word, but reality is simple. It means someone is adding harmful stuff to food just to earn more money. That’s it, and it’s scary.

Police Crackdown Getting Stronger

In just one month, authorities registered 61 cases and seized around 15 tonnes of adulterated products. That’s a huge number honestly, and it tells how big the problem is.

More than 60 people have already been arrested. The message is clear, zero tolerance now. Anyone playing with public health will face action.

The Telangana government is also stepping in strongly. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has talked about creating a special system to stop food adulteration.

This system may work like other enforcement models already running for drugs and illegal activities. That means faster action and better monitoring in future.
