Why did Ivanka Trump distance herself from politics?
Even during Donald Trump's first presidential term, Ivanka was working in the West Wing as his advisor.
Ivanka Trump, daughter of the newly elected President of America, has distanced herself from politics. Ivanka did not join her father Donald Trump's new government. However, Ivanka has done a lot of work for Donald Trump before this. Ivanka has designed a hotel in Donald Trump's real estate business, joined the boardroom of a reality TV show, campaigned for her father during his presidential election. Even during Donald Trump's first presidential term, Ivanka was working in the West Wing as his advisor. But, in January 2021, Ivanka left Washington and working with Donald Trump.
Ivanka Trump distanced herself from politics and said that she would not return to politics now. After Donald Trump's announcement to contest the US presidential election for the third time in 2022, Ivanka said in a social media post, "I love my father very much. But this time I am choosing to prioritize my private life with my young children and my family. I am not planning to join politics."
Ivanka is living a private life away from public life in Miami, Florida with her husband Jared Kushner and family.
Ivanka Trump had to face constant scrutiny and criticism for the decisions taken by Donald Trump. However, she was completely unable to influence or control those decisions. Her friends in New York also distanced themselves from her because of Trump. Therefore, Ivanka decided to move away from politics and adopt a different lifestyle.
During a conversation with The Lex Fridman Podcast in July, Ivanka said, "Politics is a very dark world. There is a lot of darkness in it, a lot of negativity and it is completely opposite to me as a human being. So I do not want to be a part of it for myself and my family."
Ivanka is very close to her father Donald Trump and talks to him regularly. Ivanka can continue to informally advise him on many issues from behind the scenes.
