Britannia CEO and executive director Ranjit Kohli resigns
March 14 will be his last day in the company.
Ranjit Singh Kohli, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Executive Director of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Britannia, has resigned. Ranjit said that he has left the company for a better opportunity. Kohli became the CEO of Britannia on 26 September 2022. March 14 will be his last day in the company.
Today i.e. on Thursday (March 6), Britannia Limited said, 'The Board of Directors of the company has approved the resignation of Rajneet Singh Kohli and he will be relieved from the services of the company after working hours on March 14.'
Kohli has worked at Asian Paints and Domino's
Before becoming the CEO of Britannia, Kohli has held leadership positions at Jubilant Foodworks, Popeyes, Dunkin, Asian Paints, Coca-Cola and Domino's India. Earlier in February, Britannia CMO Amit Doshi resigned from his post after a three-year stint at the biscuit maker.
The company earned a profit of Rs 582 crore in the October-December quarter
The company, which sells biscuits like Jim Jam and NutriChoice, reported a profit of Rs 582 crore in the third quarter of FY 2024-25. It has increased by 5% on an annual basis. During the October-December quarter, the company has generated a revenue of Rs 4,592.62 crore. It has increased by 7.90% on an annual basis.
Britannia's stock fell 5% in a month
After this announcement, the company's stock closed at Rs 4,690 today i.e. Thursday (March 6), down 0.68%. The company's stock has fallen 5.37% in the last one month, 19.74% in six months and 3.91% in a year. Britannia's market cap is Rs 1.13 lakh crore.
