Many cases of Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV Outbreak) have been reported in India. Along with this, people are worried and many questions are arising in their minds about it. After the emergence of this virus, people believe that this virus can spread an epidemic like Covid-19. This question is because like this virus, the corona virus also started from China.

However, no such information has been revealed about the HMPV virus so far and neither is it considered as dangerous as Corona. Former Chief Scientist of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Soumya Swaminathan shared information about Human Metapneumovirus in a post on the social media platform X. She has also said that there is nothing to panic about this virus.

Former Chief Scientist of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Soumya Swaminathan said in her post on X, "People do not need to panic about this virus. This is an old virus that causes respiratory infection and its cases are mostly mild." Apart from this, she also advised people to take general precautions for cold symptoms.

She further said, "Instead of finding out every pathogen, we all should take general precautions when we have a cold. For this, wear a mask. Avoid going to crowded places, wash hands frequently and consult a doctor immediately if serious symptoms appear."

At the same time, Dr. Kuldeep Kumar Grover, Head of Critical Care and Pulmonology, CK Birla Hospital, Gurugram, said that the arrival of this virus will not create epidemic-like conditions. Dr. Kuldeep said, "It cannot become an epidemic like corona, because most people are vaccinated with the flu vaccine. Due to this, their immunity is very strong, which will protect them from this virus."
