Turkish armed forces launch artillery strikes on ISIS in Syria
Ankara: The armed forces of Turkey on Monday launched artillery strikes on two separate targets, Jihadists of the Islamic state and the Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) militia.
“The Turkish Army howitzers stationed within the country (Turkey) fired on IS targets in Jarabulus town and PYD positions around Manbij,” reported a local news channel.
- Tanks and other heavy weaponry were deployed by Turkey on the border for carrying out the strikes.
- The move came after reports that the Ankara-backed rebels were planning an offensive against the IS group in Syria.
