Turkey arrests 62 children and charges them with treason
Ankara: In the wake of the failed military coup last week, the Turkey police have arrested as many as 62 children, accusing them of treason.
The kids, aged between 14 and 17 years, were from Kuleli School, the oldest military school in Istanbul.
“They (the kids) have been thrown behind the bars and are not allowed to speak to their guardians,” reported a local daily newspaper.
Their families said that the minors were invited to a cocktail party at the school just before the coup but were given guns, made to dress in army apparels and asked to guard their campus.
