New Delhi: Master Balster Sachin Tendulkar has accepted the offer to come aboard Indian Olympic Association (IOA), as Goodwill Ambassador for Rio Olympics 2016. ,

In a communique sent on Tuesday, he said “I would do whatever I could to promote sports in the country.”

It must have come a s a relief to IOA which had been under fire for earlier selecting Salman Khan as the Goodwil Amabassador. In order to douse the fire, the proposal was sent to the little master on April 29 last which he accepted.

What Tendulkar said:

The God of Indian cricket accepted the proposal saying that he would be happy to accept the honour.

said the Master Blaster.

  • Abhinav Bindra has also joined the Bollywood star to promote the Rio Olympics 2016 in the country.
  • There was a huge uproar after Bollywood superstar Salman Khan had been made the Goodwill Ambassador ahead of other sporting luminaries.
  • Former and current athletes were up in arms against Salman's appointment and demanded to know why someone from the field of sports was not named by the federation.
