Qamar Javed Bajwa to be the new army chief of Pakistan

Islamabad: Lieutenant General Qamar Javed Bajwa has replaced Raheel Sharif as the new Army Chief of Pakistan.

Javed Bajwa will officially take the charge of Pakistan army chief on Tuesday, the day when General Sharif will retire from his services.

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaj Sharif has also appointed Lt. Gen. Zubair Hayat as the Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee.

Who is General Bajwa?

- Bajwa is an infantry officer belonging to the Baloch Regiment.

- Javed Bajwa was serving as Inspector General for training and evaluation.

- He also served as commander for Army's most elite 10 Corps.
