Washington: Former State Secretary (in Bush administration) Colin Powell on Monday denied reports that he ever advised Democratic Party presidential nominee Hillary Clinton to use her personal e-mail and alleged that her people were trying to trap him into the issue.

According to a local newspaper, Clinton told the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) that Powell advised her to use her personal e-mail.

It may be mentioned that Clinton is facing allegations of using her personal e-mail ID hosted on private servers during her tenure as a State Secretary. Her opponents alleged that sometimes her mails included classified information.

Clinton has, however, denied all charges. “It was my mistake that I used my personal e-mail but the allegations are all baseless,” she said.
