Paris: Police on Thursday arrested nine persons, who were involved in throwing Molotov cocktails at police and tried to set a fire in the city hall of Beaumont, said officials.

About fifteen cars and many public garbage bins were set afire by the arrested group of men.

The clash among angry locals and police erupted on Tuesday after a death of an arrested man.

The investigation is in progress while police cited heart problem as the reason behind his death.

“Family accuses officers for hitting him during his transportation to police station,” said media reports.
