PM Modi Visit Trinidad Tobago: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Indian diaspora in the African nation of Trinidad and Tobago with a deeply emotional and culturally resonant speech. Beginning with chants of “Siyaram” and “Jai Shri Ram”, PM Modi invoked the spirit of India’s ancient heritage and reminded overseas Indians of their roots. He spoke about the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the sacredness of the Saryu River, the grandeur of the Maha Kumbh, and India’s rise as one of the world’s top four economies. He urged the diaspora to preserve the memories of their grandparents and invited them to reconnect with the motherland by visiting India.

“You May Have Left the Ganga and Yamuna, But You Brought the Ramayan in Your Hearts”

PM Modi said, “I came to this beautiful place some time ago, where birds are always singing. I had my first interaction with the Indian community here. It felt very natural — after all, we are part of the same family. The journey of the Indian community in Trinidad and Tobago has been a courageous one. Your ancestors faced immense hardships, but they never gave up. They left the rivers Ganga and Yamuna behind but carried the Ramayan in their hearts. They left their land, but never their values or culture. They were not just migrants — they were messengers of a great civilization. Through their contribution, this nation has gained culturally, economically, and spiritually.”

India Lives on in Trinidad: Streets, Celebrations, and Shared Culture

PM Modi added, “It’s been 25 years since my last visit, and our friendship has only grown stronger. Banaras, Patna, Kolkata, and Delhi are Indian cities, but even the streets here are named after them. Festivals like Navratri, Mahashivratri, and Janmashtami are celebrated with great fervor. Local traditions like Chautal and Bhaitak Gana flourish here. I felt a deep love and warmth from old friends here. I see a spark in the eyes of the young generation, ready to connect and grow together. Our ties go beyond geography — they span generations.”

The Glory of Ram Temple and Sacred Waters from the Saryu River

PM Modi remarked, “It is a matter of pride for me to bring the model of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and water from the Saryu River. This sacred water symbolizes our faith and culture — it keeps our traditions alive. Earlier this year, the world’s largest spiritual gathering, the Maha Kumbh, took place, and I was fortunate to bring its holy water with me. I request Kamla ji to offer this water to the Ganga Dhara here.”

Calling Prime Minister Kamla “Daughter of Bihar”

The Prime Minister noted, “Prime Minister Kamla’s ancestors hailed from Buxar in Bihar, and she has visited her ancestral land. People consider her a daughter of Bihar. Many people here also trace their roots back to Bihar. Bihar’s cultural heritage is a source of pride not only for India but for the entire world. Bihar has historically led in fields such as democracy, politics, diplomacy, and higher education. I am confident that in the 21st century too, Bihar will give rise to new inspirations and opportunities.”

India’s Space Journey — From Stars to the Moon

PM Modi declared, “The day is not far when an Indian will travel to the Moon, and India will have its own space station. We no longer just count stars — under our Aditya mission, we are striving to reach them. The Moon is no longer far from us. With our hard work, we are turning the impossible into possible.”

250 Million Lifted Out of Poverty in India

He continued, “India is the world’s fastest-growing major economy. We are poised to become one of the top three economies globally. The benefits of India’s growth are reaching even the poorest and most vulnerable. According to the World Bank, India has lifted over 250 million people out of poverty in the last decade. This growth is being driven by our energetic and innovative youth.”

Trinidad and Tobago Joins UPI — A New Digital Chapter

Concluding his address, PM Modi said, “I congratulate Trinidad and Tobago for becoming the first country in this region to adopt India’s UPI system. Now, sending money will be as easy as sending a ‘Good Morning’ text. I promise — it will be even faster than West Indies’ bowling!”

With a blend of emotion, cultural pride, and futuristic vision, PM Modi’s address in Trinidad and Tobago reinforced India’s global cultural ties and its rapidly advancing global influence.
