PM Modi leaves for Russia for BRICS summit
He left India at around 7:40 am and will reach Russia by 1 pm.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi left India for Kazan, Russia on Tuesday to attend the 16th BRICS summit. He left India at around 7:40 am and will reach Russia by 1 pm.
Before leaving for Russia, PM Modi informed about it on the social media platform X. He wrote, "I am going to Kazan, Russia to attend the BRICS summit. India attaches great importance to BRICS and I am excited to have a wide discussion on a wide range of topics there. I am also looking forward to meeting various leaders there."
Before leaving for Russia, PM Modi said that India values close cooperation within BRICS which has emerged as an important platform to connect on the global developmental agenda, reformed multilateralism, climate change, economic cooperation, cultural and people-to-people links, among others. The expansion of BRICS with the addition of new members last year has added to its inclusiveness and agenda for global good.
PM Modi further said that at the annual summit to be held in Moscow in July 2024, my visit to Kazan will further strengthen the special and privileged strategic partnership between India and Russia. I also look forward to meeting other leaders in BRICS.
The 16th BRICS summit is being organized in the Russian city of Kazan. PM Modi will be in Russia on a two-day visit to attend this event. He has been invited by Russian President Putin. Here the NRIs have also made grand preparations to welcome PM Modi. PM Modi will also meet Russian President Putin apart from the BRICS summit.
