PIA flight PK-661 crashes near Abbottabad; PAK singer feared dead

Islamabad: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-661, with 48 people on board, crashed midway while flying to Abbottabad from Chitral. All bodies have been recovered with no chance of any survival.

"There are no survivors, no one has survived," said Muhammad Azam Saigol, the chairman for Pakistan International Airlines.

A Pakistani singer-turned-scholar Junaid Jamshed and his wife, who were also on the flight, were also dead. Celebrities and his fans are in a state of shock after hearing the news.

It may be recalled that the flight had went missing from the radars near Havelian while it was on its way to Islamabad and communication with the control tower was broken at around 1630 hours after the flight took off from Chitral at around 1500 hours.

Huge fire was seen at the plane crash site. Government officials said that no one would have survived in one of the worst plane crashes in recent times in Pakistan.
