Pakistan successfully test-fires Cruise missile Babar-III

RAWALPINDI:Cruise missile Babar-III was successfully test fired by Pakistan in the Indian Ocean on Monday, according to the Inter Services Public Relations.

Rawalpindi: Cruise missile Babar-III was successfully test fired by Pakistan in the Indian Ocean on Monday, according to the Inter Services Public Relations.

During the test, the missile precisely hit the target, the ISPR sated.

Submarine-launched cruise missile (SLCM) Babar-III has a range of 450 kilometres.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa congratulated the team of scientists and engineers for achieving the milestone.

The launch was witnessed by the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, Lieutenant General Mazhar Jamil, Strategic Plans Division (SPD) , Commander Naval Strategic Force Command (NSFC), senior officials, scientists and engineers from Scientific Strategic Organisations.

According to a statement released by ISPR, "Babar-III ensures Pakistan's second-strike capability which enables a country to powerfully retaliate to a nuclear attack."
