Pak PM Nawaz Sharif seeks Washington’s help in Kashmir issue
New York: Raising the Kashmir issue in his meeting with United States Secretary of State John Kerry in New York, Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday urged Washington to pitch in and find a solution to the prolonged dispute.
“PM asked for the help of US to resolve the Kashmir issue in a peaceful way and highlighted the human right abuses in the valley,” said Pakistan’s envoy to the United Nations Maleeha Lodhi.

It may be mentioned that the Pakistani Premier was accompanied by his adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry as well as Lodhi in the meeting.
The meeting came amid fresh war of words between Pakistan and India after cross-border terrorists sneaked into the Indian valley and killed 18 soldiers at the army camp in Uri sector on Sunday last. Sharif was in the country to attend the 71st Session of the United Nations Green Assembly (UNGA).
