Joe Biden takes oath as US President; PM Modi extends wishes on Twitter (PC: Social Media)
New Delhi: In the US, Joe Biden sworn in as the President and Indian-origin Kamala Harris is the Vice President. While newly elected US President Biden became the 46th President of the country, Kamala Harris became the first female Vice President of the country.
Biden sworn in as new President:
Joe Biden took the 46th US Presidential Oath from the Capitol Building in Washington DC. Along with him Kamala Harris also held the post of Vice President.
PM Modi congratulates Joe Biden:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote in his tweet that best wishes to Joe Biden on taking over as President of the United States, I look forward to working with him to strengthen Indo-US relations.
Greeting Prime Minister Modi for the term of the new President of America, he said that we stand together to face common challenges. I am committed to working with President Joe Biden to take India-US relations to a new height.

On the other hand, strict security arrangements were made for the swearing-in ceremony. Thousands of security personnel were deployed around the Capitol Building (Parliament House) to stop supporters of former President Donald Trump.
Joe Biden while addressing the US said that this is a great nation and we are great people. We have come a long way with peace and war. Joe Biden said that a virus killed as many Americans as it did in World War One. Many people in America lost their jobs due to Corona virus.
