Hitchhiking proved costly for an Israeli tourist, gets raped

Manali: A 25-year-old Israeli girl was gang raped in the wee hours on Sunday when she hitchhiked a car ride.

Victim's version:

• The woman was waiting for a taxi to visit Kaza in Spiti Valley, Himanchal Pradesh.
• A car without a number plate offered her a ride to Manali.
• There were six men in the car, two of them raped her and then they dropped her off at Manali.

• The women could not identify the men.

According to Kullu superintendent of police Padam Chand ," The medical examination has been carried out and sent to Mandi for expert opinion. The woman has reported that she was looking for an auto or any vehicle near Manali when she was offered the lift.”

• A case has been registered under section 376 (rape) of IPC in this connection.
• The investigation is under process.
