New Delhi: Discussions on tackling climate change took place on the last day of the G-20 summit held in Rome on Sunday. The leaders of the member countries put forth their views. Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden expressed disappointment that Russia and China "did not appear committed to tackling climate change" at the G20 summit.

Joe Biden on Climate change:

One reason is because all member states have been active in it, but Russia, China seem to be silent on the subject, which Biden said has passed several resolutions. America is worried about this."

In this conference, the leaders of the G-20 group agreed to limit global warming to 1.5 °C. Some concrete action was also discussed in this meeting between the leaders of the member countries.

However, the meeting did not specify a date till 2050 to achieve net zero carbon emissions.

Scientists say that curbing this considerable carbon emissions is critical to preventing catastrophic climate change. "We believe that the impacts of climate change at 1.5 °C are much less than those at 2 °C," the statement said.

Keeping 1.5°C within reach will require meaningful and effective action and commitment by all countries. After this, President Biden said that there was no commitment from Russia and China regarding this, which is a matter of concern.
