Powerful explosion rocks sports facility in Belgium, one killed

City of Brussels: At least one person was killed and several others were injured in a powerful explosion at a sports facility in Belgium’s Chinmay city on Thursday. The building was partially destroyed by the blast and at least five people were reportedly buried under the rubble.

“At least one person was killed and five others were injured when the building collapsed following a blast,” reported a local news channel.

The explosion went off in a storage room of the building. The cause of the blast was still unclear. A rescue operation was underway at the site.
