Ankara: At least eight persons died and more than 100 others injured in a car bomb attack by Kurdish militants on Friday in Turkey’s Diyarbakir province.

The attack took place outside the Counter-Terror and Riot Police Branch in Baglar district. Following the blast, clashes erupted between police and PKK militants.

Turkish forces have killed about 7,000 PKK militants since July 2015. The forces have also lost 650 soldiers. Several countries including US, European Union and Turkey have listed PKK as a terrorist organization.
