New Delhi: South Africa has started tightening restrictions in view of the increasing outbreak of the delta variant of Corona. South Africa has implemented the fourth level of lockdown with the increasing graph of Corona. There will also be a ban on events along with curfew.

Delta Variant in South Africa:

President Cyril Ramaphosa said in his address on Sunday that the restrictions would be implemented for 15 days from the night of June 27. After that it will be assessed and then the decision will be taken. Before the President's address, the Health Ministry said that in the last 24 hours, 15,036 new cases have been found and 122 people have died.

In Gauteng province of South Africa, 60 percent of the total patients found in the country are being found in Delta. On this basis, traffic from Gauteng province has been completely banned.

Situation out of control:

The delta form of Covid-19 may be responsible for the daily increasing cases of infection in Gauteng province, the economic hub of South Africa. A leading epidemiologist has said this. The delta form of the virus has been found in at least 85 countries, including India.

Shabir Madhi, director of the Vaccines and Infectious Diseases Analytical Research Unit at Wits University, told the news channel 'ENCA' that the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) will release official figures next week but it is feared that the infection has increased due to the delta form which is beta. 60 percent more contagious than Swaroop. The beta form was first found in South Africa.

NICD said on Friday that 18,762 new cases of covid-19 were reported across the country and 215 people died. Of this, 63 percent of the cases were reported in Gauteng province.
