Corona Outbreak: Sudden increase in COVID cases, Deaths due to Omicron higher than from Delta

New Delhi: There are many places in the world where the Omicron form of the corona is being lightened by stating that it is not more deadly than the delta form. But in America, this form is proving to be more dangerous than Delta. More people are dying every day from the Omicron variant here than from the Delta.

Omicron outbreak:

In the US, 2,267 people have died within the last one day. While 34.12 lakh new infected were identified in the world on the last day, 10,330 people have lost their lives in the same period. The seven-day average death toll in the US has been increasing since mid-November.

Meanwhile, Andrew Noymer, a public health professor at the University of Lifornia, Irvine, said that we could lose millions of people to Omicron. It should be discussed what we can do differently and how many lives we can save.

Corona in Pakistan:

Active covid-19 cases in Pakistan crossed the one lakh mark for the first time since July 2020 when 7,963 cases were registered in the country. The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) said that in the last 24 hours, after testing a total of 70,389 people, 7,963 new infections were registered. The number of active cases in the country has gone up to 1,04,095.
