Beijing: Doctors are referred to as God as they treat patients and give them a second life. But after all, they are humans too and can make mistakes. Several cases have been reported about doctors forgetting their instruments inside patient’s bodies after operation but what if a doctor does not inform the patient about a serious illness?

Something similar happened in this case where a man was not told about his brain tumor which was diagnosed 18 months back! The doctors forgot to inform a man about his serious medical condition. The Incident is reported from China where a 54 year old man named Lee Shu-Leung had apparently undergone a surgery in 2005 to remove a brain tumor.

During the operation, he lost hearing in his left ear. He collapsed on the street one day and was rushed to the hospital in the district of Yau Ma Tei. He was discharged after a thorough examination where doctors told him that his brain was fine and they asked him to come back for a heart check-up in 6 months.

Subsequently, he started feeling dizzy after a few months of his fall and went back to the hospital. The doctors who examined him confirmed the presence of a second tumor but unfortunately Lee was not informed about it due to some miscommunication.

It took 18 months for Lee to understand that something was seriously wrong and hence he got himself examined again. The doctors found out that he already had the tumor and was not informed about it. But the damage was done! He has to now permanently rely on a walking frame as the delay in treatment left him with serious mobility problems.

The Couple is planning to sue the hospital. It is reported that Lee and his wife would lodge a complaint soon. On the other hand, the couple has spent more than £9,800 on treatments even though he cannot be cured permanently.
