New Delhi: China is now preparing to build a giant structure of several kilometers in Earth's orbit. It will also have facilities ranging from solar power plant, tourist complex, gas station to asteroid mining. China's National Natural Science Foundation has announced a 5-year plan instructing researchers to develop the technology.

China will take electricity from space by 2035:

Light weight materials will be used in its construction. So that they can be delivered to orbit with existing rockets. It is the first project to have a 1-mile-wide solar power station, which will power the Chinese grid by 2035. In other projects, orbital platforms will be of several miles. In front of them will be seen the International Space Station sow, which is only up to 350 feet wide.

The foundation has not given any specific information about this structure. The new information is related to the instructions given for the deals only. China wants to challenge America's NASA through its space station. Actually NASA is operating the International Space Station in collaboration with many other European countries. At present there are 7 astronauts on this space station.
