China is rapidly strengthening its military infrastructure near the border with India these days. A recent satellite image has revealed that China is converting its two civilian airports adjacent to Aksai Chin into airbases of the Chinese Air Force. Redevelopment work is going on in full swing at both these airports. Along with building new runways here, blast-proof hangars and bunkers are being constructed for fighter and other military transport aircraft. At the same time, there is also a fear that these two redeveloped airbases under construction can be used for military operations against India.

Giving information in a post on the social media platform X by open source intelligence @detresfa_, it was said, "It seems that China is redeveloping its two civilian airports north of Aksai Chin. This move by China will reduce the operational burden on Hotan Airbase in Xinjiang province, which is currently China's primary military airbase facing India. This will improve the PLA's wartime aircraft deployment and dispersal capabilities." At the same time, photos of both the under-construction airbases have also been shared in this post.

The satellite image shared in the x post of @detresfa_ shows China's redevelopment work at Yutian Wanfang Airport and Shache Yarkant Airport. Yutian Wanfang Airport is built in Yutian County located in Hotan Prefecture of Xinjiang province. This airport has a 32,000 meter long and 45 meter wide runway. At the same time, terminal buildings and aprons have been built here for parking 4 military aircraft. At the same time, Shache Yerkiang Airport is in Yarkant County in Kashgar Province of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.

At present, China's largest airbase on the Indian border is located in Hotan, where China has deployed J-20 stealth aircraft. However, China fears that India can directly target Hotan Airbase in times of conflict. That is why China is upgrading airbases at different places. Which has become a cause of trouble for India.
