Benghazi: At least 22 people have been killed and dozens others were injured in a suicide attack in outskirts of Libya’s Benghazi city on Tuesday.

The blast took place in the city's Guwarsha district, said military officials.

Shura Council of Benghazi Rebels, an ally of Islamist group, has claimed the responsibility for the attack at the birthplace of former leader Muammar Gaddafi.

Terrorist group claimed the responsibility through a Twitter post which read, “The artillery of the Shura Council of Benghazi Rebels targeted a gathering of the forces of Hafter with howitzer in Gwarsha area."

Attack comes a day after first Air Strike from US on Islamic State (IS)
