Bomb Explosion in Manhattan leaves 29 injured:probe on

New York: At least 29 persons were injured when a powerful explosion from the garbage hit Chelsea neighborhood in Manhattan area late Saturday night.

The injured had been rushed to the hospital while their injuries were officially described as 'not life threatening'. The explosion, believed to be of a country-made bomb took place when a car was passing by a garbage pot on the sidewalk in 23rd street near the Avenue of Americas.

The blast left car totally damaged while the impact had window panes shattered and it could be heard from a distance. Meanwhile, the authorities found another such device in the area.

According to New York Mayor Bill De Blasio, Prima Facie , the explosion did not look like a terror attack but all precautions were being taken. He said there was no reason for panic as the probe had already started.
